Friends, Family, and More
The Wed. before Thanksgiving we drove 10 hours to Texas to visit our aunts, uncles, and cousins in Lewisville. I ( Faith) had my 16th birthday while we were there. No, I do not have my license yet, "sigh from Mom".
The girls and ladies of the family went Black Friday shopping. Trying to miss the crowd, we left at 5 pm for the mall finding it was still overwhelmingly full of people. We survived! Thank goodness! Note: After waiting in line for 45 minutes at the first store, those of us not fond of shopping were ready to leave. We stuck it out for another hour or so. After shopping, we went out to eat for my birthday at an awesome little Italian restaurant We enjoyed spending time with our cousins and are looking forward to next year! Our drive home was in pouring down rain, and we were delayed by several accidents along the way. We were blessed to arrive home safely.
The weekend, before Christmas, everyone went to Illinois, except for Dad and I. While they spent the time in IL catching up with friends and family, we were stuck at home with crazy work schedules. Dad worked nights, while I worked days. We, rarely, saw each other. By the time, I got up for work; dad was getting home. I got home from work after dad had already left. This was our schedule until Tuesday evening, when Dad hurt himself at work. The corner of a heavy metal box fell on his lower leg causing tremendous bruising. (at the time of writing this blog 1/6/16 he is still unable to go back to work and had an MRI done today to see if there are any tendons damaged:( Two of his supervisors brought him home in the middle of the night. I slept through it all! This caused a short delay in our plans for leaving, but we made it in time for Christmas.
Here are some pictures for Y'all.
